MISSION
Charter I Commercial is a locally owned commercial real estate company dedicated to providing professional real estate services for the people and businesses in the Lowcountry.

In order to carry out our mission, Charter I Commercial has invested its time and resources over the last 20 years to assemble, train and equip our agents to provide our clients with commercial real estate experience and knowledge.
- Charter I Commercial has participated in over 1,300 commercial transactions since 1990.
- Charter I Commercial generally has over 100 commercial listings in our primary trade area at any given time.
- Our agents are trained professionals who work exclusively in commercial real estate.
- Our agents are well-connected locals who know the owners and users of commercial real estate in our trade area.
- Our agents have a combined total of 53 years of commercial real estate experience in the Lowcountry.
- Each of our agents has lived in the Lowcountry for at least 25 years.
- All of our real estate agents are CCIM designees or candidates.
HISTORY
Charter I Commercial was founded in 1989 by David Bachelder, its Managing Partner, and the principals of Charter I Realty & Marketing, Charlie Reed, James Wedgeworth and Rick Murray.

David Bachelder started his career in commercial real estate in the Lowcountry in 1974 with the Sea Pines Company. From 1976 until 1989, he was a principal in Gladden Real Estate, the first commercial real estate company on Hilton Head Island.
Baker Wilkins joined Charter I Commercial in 1999, Walter Wilkins joined in 2005 and David Bachelder, Jr. joined in 2006.
Kent Eddy helped to start Charter I Management in 2003 to round out the services offered by Charter I Commercial and Management.
Charter I Commercial and Management moved into new offices at 1544 Fording Island Road in 2004 to accommodate our growth. This new location is in the center of our primary trade area so we are conveniently available to all our clients and customers. |
